Cash games are arguably the best, most consistent method of making an online profit from poker. These 4 tips will give you the edge at the poker table, allowing you to win cash from poker players who are just ‘playing casually’. These tips are aimed at people looking to make money at the micro to low blind level tables (blinds lower than one dollar / pound).

1. Play tight! The first tip requires an exclamation mark, which must mean it’s important! Cash games have no incremental blind structure, meaning whatever you pay for your first blind is what you’ll be playing for the duration of your stay at that table (unlike poker tournaments where the blind levels increase). This means that you can just fold your trash hands over and over, waiting to catch a big hand and double up. There’s no point frittering your hard earned cash away on low-medium strength hands. Even if it is low stake poker you’re playing, to improve your game you must never risk your chips without the right risk:reward ratio.

2. Patience is a virtue. This saying is applicable for so many aspects of life, especially for online poker. When you first join an online poker table, you’ll be asked the question ‘post big blind’ which essentially means you pay a big blind out of turn, allowing you to start getting dealt cards straight away (if you don’t post big blind you wait until the big blind falls on you naturally). Don’t use this function, be patient. Wait until it’s your turn for the big blind and then start playing, staking chips that you don’t need to is a bad idea, it sounds obvious but many poker players post the big blind out of turn.

3. Unleash the beast. Once you’ve involved yourself in a hand, it’s time to engage your second personality. Your first personality should be the tight player, who’s folding a lot of hands and rarely getting involved. Once you’ve involved yourself you must protect those chips, and make sure you win. Time to switch to personality number two, the beast! If it’s your turn to act and no one else has bet, ALWAYS make a continuation bet. The continuation bet is possibly the most consistent way of winning a hand. Even if your opponent has hit a hand and you haven’t, you’ve got a tight image so they will give you respect – and hand over their chips to you.

4. Know thy odds. Maths. That’s essentially what poker is. If you know your chances of hitting a hand which will make you win, you can assess whether any decision will be profitable. Even if your maths fails you on one occasion (someone sucks out on you), you know that over a long period of time the averages will become more and more accurate – you’ll be the winner in the long run.

These online poker tips have provided the Profit from Poker team with a huge amount of revenue from internet poker, but don’t just take our word for it. Try these online poker tips today at the best poker rooms on the web. You can even use no deposit poker bonuses to test them out, costing you no money but still allowing you to win BIG money.

With poker machines being games of chance and luck, players can be very superstitious when it comes to playing. As such, there are plenty of myths circulating that have skewed many players’ perspectives of pokies.

One of the most popular myths about poker machines is that players can predict when they will win. Many players believe that of they study the sequence of symbols, they can determine a pattern. This is simply not true. Unlike skill games such as poker, there is not amount of studying that can be done in order to help you win while playing pokies. This is important because it means that no players are more likely to win than others. The games operate on a random sequence, so that players cannot determine when the next payout will be.

Players also assume that casinos determine when a particular machine will payout its biggest jackpot. Because games run on random number generators, it is impossible for casinos to rig the outcome of any poker machines. It is also considered illegal for any casino operator to attempt to the fix the outcome of any games, so players should be well-aware that it is highly unlikely for a casino to set the time and date when a player will hit a big jackpot on a poker machine.

Another myths concerns the frequency of pokies’ payouts, assuming that a machine will not pay out a large jackpot if it has already done so recently. Like online pokies, land-based poker machines operate on random number generator software, meaning that there is no way a pokie can time its jackpot payouts. A machine may not payout a jackpot for 6 months, or it could only be 6 days or 6 hours – it is entirely random and a player should not let a recent win prevent them from playing any poker machine.

A common situation that pokie players encounter is seeing the machine they’ve been playing payout a jackpot to the player who sits down after them. They believe that if they have continued playing, they would be the one to hit the jackpot. However, this is not the case. Again, the random number generator dictates the sequence of symbols and the outcome changes with every second that passes. For the first player to hit the same jackpot as the new player, they would have to spin the reels at exactly the same second and place the exact same wager.

These myths can be damaging to avid poker machine players, as they hinder your gameplay experience. It is best to go into a casino and play without any preconceived notions about pokies, so that they can play without anything holding them back.

Be it Omaha, Texas hold ‘em or seven-card stud game, it can’t be denied that poker has become one of the most popular card games today. Online competition is also gaining in popularity as sites such as www.partybingo.com and others are being created. Be it Omaha, Texas hold ‘em or seven-card stud game, it can’t be denied that poker has become one of the most popular card games today. Another variation of poker is the 3 card poker, and aside from Texas hold ‘em, has become the popular poker-based game played in casinos. Before we deal with the rules of the game, let’s look at first how the game was invented.

History of the Game It is said that 3 card poker was invented by Derek Webb in the year 1994. This game had a different name before and was called by other names that are Brit-Brag and Casino Brag. After Webb applied for and was granted patents for the game in the United States and United Kingdom, he began marketing 3 card poker using Prime Table Games.

Marketing continued up until 1999 until a company bought the rights to the game. Shuffle Master Incorporated reached a deal with Prime Table Games and they got exclusive rights to 3 card poker outside of the British Isles. In 2002, the gambling regulations department allowed the game to be played.

Rules of the Game

The playing table for poker is usually setup with three betting sections namely ante, play and pairs plus. Players, first place bet on the ante section, wherein they can also opt to place a pairs plus wagers. After the players placed their bets, the dealer then deals each player three cards, thus the name 3 card poker.

Play here is against the dealer and not against other players. After receiving three cards, player must then decide to bet or to fold, where bet must be equal or greater than the initial ante bet.

The dealer’s hand is only valid when it has a queen or better card. When the dealer has a queen drawn, he compares the cards to those who have not folded and decides which hand is better. If the dealer has no queen, the players who have not folded automatically win. In 3 card poker, a straight flush is the best hand, next is the three-of-a-kind, then the straight, followed by a flush, a pair and lastly the high card hand.

Strategy and Odds

tri card poker is among the easiest casino game because you only have three cards to compare. Just like other poker games, there is no exact way to ensure a win. However, the simplest strategy to beat 3 card poker is to bet when your cards on hand is better than Queen-6-4.

tri card poker was designed to give a slight house edge which means that if you are really a player, you won’t mind playing anywhere. But there are those that play where the odds are good and this depends on the table payout. Play only on the tri card poker table that has a large payout for flush and straight. That way you can increase your chances of winning and will not be affected by the slight house edge that exists in the game.

It was our primary goal to give you a short guide to playing poker online and allow you to see directly what can be accomplished. People tend to have more powerful results and feel more fulfilled when they delve deeper into this subject. What we will do is go into much deeper are more refined points that will give you a greater comprehension and more advantage. You will find it to be very useful in so many ways, and some of it is very distinct to your particular needs.

After many years of playing online poker I fell in Love with 3 card poker So I made a site that teaches a newbie to play with article and videos.

In the game of poker you need to be able to adapt your strategy as needed while playing the game. Think of it like shifting gears in a car you change gear to adapt to the speed and terrain you are driving on – the same applies to the game of poker. Being able to adapt is one of the most crucial skills you can learn and use to your advantage. Lets back up a bit and explain why it’s so important so you can judge for yourself the necessity of adapting. In any poker game the situation is always changing – you will be dealt different hands and so will your opponents, you will bet differently and so will your opponents and perhaps most importantly your opponents will always be changing so the game will never be the same twice. Being able to adapt means altering your mindset to fit the particular game you are playing and the players you are playing with – as the situation changes you need to be able to adapt accordingly if you expect to make money with poker.

Now you may be thinking you have a strategy that always works, maybe it’s a “style” you like to play, a certain attitude you like to portray? If this is the case then why adapt to each new game? There are two primary reasons why you may need to adapt your play the first is exploiting certain circumstances you may be faced with. For example, lets say you are playing a game of online Texas Holdem and you are dealt a hand that would normally be an automatic fold for you. The difference this time is that the only person on the table who has bet has a strong tendency towards bluffing – this might be a golden opportunity for you to adapt to a situation and play to your potential benefit knowing the information.

The second reason you may need to adapt your play is so you don’t become predictable (like the player that always bluffs in the above example). Being difficult for other players to read is a huge advantage in any poker game – why give your opponents any advantage over you? If your moves can be predicted then you will have a pattern that your opponents will learn to follow and capitalize on as they counter your moves. It won’t take long for other players to learn when to call, raise or fold when playing with you no matter what hand is dealt. If you are willing to adapt to the situation at hand then you become less likely to predict and other players won’t be able to take advantage of any holes in your game.

While the above are the primary reasons for adapting play there are a few other advantages. This may seem obvious but you should be adjusting your play based on how you are doing in a particular game. The obvious being if your bankroll is running low you should tighten up your play in order to protect your chips. And vice versa is true – if your bankroll is looking rather healthy then maybe you should use that to your advantage as an intimidation tactic. You can often steal blinds by making large bets. And to state the obvious – if you have the right cards and you are making large bets then you stand a good chance of taking down chips even if you’re called you still could win the hand.

The final piece of advice I have to share about adapting to play is based on who you are playing with and the number of players you are playing against. The concept is simple, the number of opponents you are playing against will impact the odds of winning your hand. Simple math – your odds will change depending on how many players are in the pot one, two, three, etc. Who you are playing against is also very important – the expertise and habits of your opponents should play a factor in how you adapt to play. Try and identify patterns of play – are they an aggressive or reserved player? Do they have a tendency for bluffing? Is there a pattern to their betting? And any other tell factors you may pick up on and use to your advantage.

I hope this article helped you see all the beneficial ways that being able to adapt play can mean the difference between winning or losing. Flexibility is important when playing poker – especially online as your opponents can change more frequently. Learn to adapt and you will stay ahead of the competition, if you don’t then it will be difficult to make money with poker playing online. It’s evolution – the poker players that adapt will survive and profit.

Gambling is one of the most popular recreational pursuits in the world and millions of people love a good game of poker, both in real casinos and the online variety, but if you are out to win, what are the best tips for winning at Texas holdem poker tournaments?

Playing poker successfully is a skill not everybody bothers to learn: some people are happy to play poker for the thrill of the game and they do not care whether they win or lose. But the rest of us are in it for the money and learning how to win Texas holdem tournaments is something we want to master!

There are many useful tips for winning at no limit Texas holdem tournaments and even if you only use a few, you are still certain to improve your chances of winning a decent pot of money.

Tips for how to win at Texas holdem tournaments:

- Play tight: instead of playing every hand, maximise your chances of winning big by only playing when you have a good hand and folding when you do not.

- Start low: while you are learning how the game works, play for the lowest stakes possible, that way it will not matter as much if you lose more than you win. Besides, many of the lower stake tables can be just as profitable.

- Learn the rules: it may seem obvious, but many newbie poker players do not bother to learn the rules of the game and dive straight in expecting to win. Do your research and watch a few games before you have a go yourself.

- Pay attention to the other players: always be aware of what the other players in your game are doing -staying ahead of the action will give you extra information and help you win at Texas holdem poker.

- Learn from your experiences: every time you play Texas holdem poker, you are building on your experience and over time your skill will grow and you will make better game decisions.

How to get to the final table at Texas holdem poker:

Getting to the final table in Texas holdem poker games requires discipline, focus, and a fair amount of lady luck. By this stage, you should be careful with your chips and try to avoid speculating against the big players unless you have a large stack of chips to back up your game. Finally, be aggressive and play not just to crawl to the money – but to win!

After playing, studying, watching and reading poker for the past 18 months, I decided to create The Poker Zoo – an international social network for poker enthusiasts.

At the Poker Zoo you can add your profile, learn poker tips and strategy from our articles, share videos, add forthcoming events and get news of live international poker tournaments, chat to friends and other members, blog, upload photos and much more.

You wouldn’t think that a cut-throat world such as online poker – where everyone is anonymous and out to get one another’s money – has anything resembling unwritten rules or protocols. At lower stakes, this is certainly true.

Players come and go, rarely encountering one another again, and have no incentive to be polite or help one another out. As the stakes get higher, unwritten rules and agreements between players are commonplace, and none more-so than the high stakes heads up tables.

At higher stakes, players can be loosely divided into two categories. The regulars (regs), who often play for a living and play a solid, mathematically sound game. The other group are the fish, who are recreational players, usually just playing for fun and excitement, with many holes and leaks in their game.

On any poker site, at the higher stakes heads up tables, you’ll often see one player sitting waiting at a table on his own. You can bet your bottom dollar this is a reg waiting in anticipation of a fish wandering in to relieve him of his money. Regs will avoid one another even if they think they have an edge over each other. This is because any edges that regs have over each other will be small, and games usually result in just passing money back and forward.

Because there are only a certain amount of heads-up tables on a site, some regs will sit at every table, refusing to play other regs. This results in him taking up every table and not allowing any other regs to get a game. If this happens, other regs will “block” his tables by sitting with him but refusing to play. This stops both players from getting a game, but there has to be a penalty for any player who thinks he can monopolise all empty tables waiting on a fish.

Most regs work out some agreement, however, where they all sit at a few tables each and take their chances who the fish sit with. Any reg thought to be taking more than their share will end up getting all their tables blocked.

Other unwritten rules are “don’t tap the aquarium” – ie, don’t scare the fish. Don’t berate a fish for his bad play and don’t abuse them in the chat box. All that does is humiliate them into leaving or improving their game, which hurts the regs bottom line. Just tell him he’s unlucky and allow him to let off steam in the chatbox if he wants to.

Ring games (6 seat or 9 seat tables) have their own unwritten rules, but if you ever open a poker site and see 20 high stakes heads-up tables with just one player sitting, that’s the reason.

Rush Poker is not your ordinary online poker room. Developed by Full Tilt Poker, Rush Poker was designed for the most impatient poker players; those who would play the generally recommended tight poker game if only it did not mean waiting out hand after hand of loose players who waste time betting on virtually anything.

We will be offering a few invaluable Rush Poker tips that will help poker players improve their time-based win percentage at this innovative new online poker room.

Tip 1: Time is on Your Side

Rush Poker is so incredibly fast paced because every time a player folds a hand, they are instantly catapulted to a new table where they are dealt a new hand. There is no more waiting for your opponents to complete the previous hand before receiving new cards and getting right back into the action. No longer will you be enticed to play a less than worthy hand simply because you have been waiting so long to receive palpable cards. Conclusion? Keep folding those marginal hands! Time is on your side. You will receive a playable starting hand soon enough!

Tip 2: Play Tight

The first poker strategy we learn is a tight game. This is because it is the best strategy for an inexperienced player who cannot yet read their opponents effectively. Player reads are virtually useless at Rush Poker due to the constant changing of tables, and since the hands evolve exceedingly faster, you will not get bored folding 90% of those hands. Wait for a premium starting hand and make the most of it.

Tip 3: Value Betting

Value betting is extremely important at Rush Poker. Since your opponents cannot get a read on you, there is no need to mix things up, slow playing a monster hand, check-raising the next one then betting manically on another. In the same token, you cannot determine if you are being called/raised by a fish or another tight player. The whole idea behind value betting is to risk an amount that is worth losing, should that occur, but also brings a nice profit when you win.

Value bets are based on your odds of winning the pot, according to your own hand and the chances that your opponent has you beat. If you have a 40% chance of winning, bet 40% of the current pot.

Tip 4: Opponents Value Bets

Try to watch out for opponents who are value-betting the pot. A fishy player will not bother calculating a value bet. If you can oust a value bettor, you can label him a tight player in time to get out, should you suspect he has got you beat.

Tip5: Bluffing

Bluffing can be highly effective at Rush Poker, and for habitual bluffers, it is like pennies from heaven! You can not expect to win a normal poker game by bluffing consistently. You will eventually be called at every turn as your opponents label you a bluffer. The same cannot be said of Rush Poker, where opponent observation does not apply. We are not saying constant bluffing will be effective, but you certainly have a better chance of scooping pots in this manner at Rush Poker.

The ability to quick-fold often entices other players to simply get out early and receive a new hand. A substantial raise can easily scare everyone away from the pot. The only thing you have left to worry about is tight players who finally received that premium starting hand, and are not willing to give up on it. Should you get called on a big raise, beware!

First of all, poker rooms do not offer any type of video poker or slot machines. This is true for internet poker rooms as well, though they are essentially one virtual video poker game anyway. Poker rooms are strictly for poker, so you won’t find other card games or casino related games in them. These rooms are designed for individuals to play against each other, instead of against the house. The house is usually the pit boss or workers that work for the casino or online game room.

Card rooms charge differently so that the “house” can still earn their profits. Sometimes an individual player will be charged by the half hour or hourly basis. In some cases there may be a monthly membership fee for unlimited plays against other players. However, most of the time the dealer will collect a rake from the pot when each hand is played during the entire game session to ensure the house still profits.

Poker rooms or card rooms can be found in most casinos, but some of them are stand alone. A large amount of these are in California, which is one of the most popular locations for poker playing. When referring to online card rooms, there are endless options and websites that offer private rooms for playing against a group of people from across the country or world.

Illegally hosted poker rooms also exist but are subject to shutdowns by the law. If you participate in these you put yourself at serious risk for getting into trouble with the police. Illegal rooms like these are discouraged and heavily frowned upon by real casino game players and by institutions that run legitimate ones. If you think a place that you joined is running illegally, you should leave and report it anonymously as soon as you possibly can.

When you play in poker rooms, use proper gaming etiquette when against other people. Being rude or inflammatory can cause you to forfeit your winnings and you will be forced to leave. This applies to online gaming as well as gaming in a physical casino location. Acting out against the team or dealer is strongly discouraged. Cheating devices for internet gameplay are also discouraged and illegal. Despite the poker rooms being online, you can still get into legal trouble for manipulating the system.

Poker is an excellent game and can be a fun way to spend extra time you may have. Who knows, you could even win big and leave with a good amount of extra cash. It still doesn’t change the importance of acting properly when in poker rooms, no matter where they are located.

With the recent launch of Rush Poker on Full Tilt Poker, players are discovering that they can play hundreds of more hands per hour than in the traditional cash games. Even though, this is a big difference between Rush poker and standard games, there are also other differences that distinguish it from other the regular game.

Some players love the new game and are proudly boasting out loud that it is the future of poker. Others do not appreciate it as much because they say it reduces the real poker strategies. Choosing to play Rush Poker or not is now becoming a major issue for poker players online.

Pros of Rush Poker on Full Tilt Poker

One of the biggest advantages of playing Rush Poker on Full Tilt Poker is the characteristic “Quick Fold”. In short, you have the right to throw your hand away at any time during the hand. Even if it is not your turn to speak, you can click on the Quick Fold and go to the next hand. Of course, several players on Full Tilt were already making the decision to fold or to check before their turn.

However, with Rush Poker, you do not need to wait until the hand was ended to start a new one. When you click on Quick Fold, you’re sent to another table on the spot where a new hand begins. This new feature significantly reduces the time spent waiting between two hands or even during the actual hand.

Another advantage is that the small blinds and seat positions are assigned randomly. Moreover, the big blind is the player who has not paid a blind for the longest period of time. Consequently, the tight aggressive players will discover that their strategy is much more efficient since they do not pay the blinds as often. This is indeed favourable for players who play tight, and gives a tight aggressive strategy better chance of success.

Cons of Rush Poker on Full Tilt Poker

A major disadvantage that several players mentioned concerning the new game is that its speed strips the game from the classic poker strategy that made the game what it is. For some, it kills the strategy so often used by poker professionals. Other players feel that it is not the case. In fact, you still have the same amount of time to take a decision in each hand and all strategies are still applicable.

Of course, it can also be hard on the bankroll of players who do not pay attention. With the large number of hands a player can play per hour, especially if he takes advantage of the ability to play on multiple tables, his money can disappear very quickly. Still, if a player pays attention to his bankroll, playing within the limits he can and should play at, it will not be a bigger problem than with other type of poker games.

To understand what exactly rakeback is, I’ll need to firstly explain how poker rooms make their revenue and money in online poker. Every time you play a game of poker, whether it’s a cash game or tournament, the poker room will take a small percentage of the buy-in fee. In cash games, a poker room take 5% from the value of each pot. This is more commonly known as the “rake”, and most players don’t even notice it happening. The truth is, the amount poker rooms take from rake builds up to a staggering amount in the long run. The biggest online poker site, PokerStars, earns around $500 million in profit from the tables (not revenue, profit!).

Now rakeback is a relative new phenomenon in online poker that only really started a couple of years ago, and has now turned into a massive promotion scheme for affiliates recruiting and referring players to poker sites. When you sign up to rakeback at a poker site, you receive a substantial percentage of the rake you generate a poker room back – hence the term rakeback. This figure is approximately 30%, which means you’re receiving 30% from the 5% the poker room takes from each pot you enter. Although this figure doesn’t seem that much, when you’re playing poker from a casual level onwards the money this adds up to is massive. Many experienced poker players will make up to $50,000 per year through rakeback alone – this has nothing to do with their actual profits directly from playing poker. And the truth is, you don’t have to be a regular poker player to take advantage of rakeback. Even low limit poker players, who have a bankroll of just $100, can end up earning $1000 each year playing micro stakes cash tables.

The most interesting part about rakeback however, is not it’s recent rise, but rather the secrecy surrounding it. Knowledgeable poker players will already know that no poker site currently advertises or provides rakeback schemes to those players who sign up to the poker room directly. This is purposeful done by the poker site, because offering rakeback to players heavily cuts into their profits (after all, they are giving away 30% of their profit margin), so they don’t overtly advertise unnecessarily to players who don’t know about it. In order to get rakeback, players must sign up new accounts to poker rooms through rakeback providing affiliates. These can easily be found by a quick search in Google, and will ultimately earn you much more money from having a rakeback account during your lifetime than any other poker bonus, offer or promotion will ever get close to providing.
