Strong Arm Poker is a phrase I coined sometime ago. It’s a style of play that can be very lucrative. Do not confuse it with being a bully at the poker table though. It’s imperative that you get a couple of things straight before embarking on this type of play.

A sit n go is a single table tournament consisting of 6-10 players. 6 players is referred to short handed sit and go. 9 players is your STANDARD sit n go game, and 10 players is on a few online poker room sites such as absolute poker. If it is 6, 9 , 10 players, developing a winning strategy will be your key to success.

There are many occasions in Texas Holdem Poker games where you will raise before the flop, and then find that your hand did not connect with the community cards in any way. A standard ‘move’ is continue with the aggression you have shown before the flop. A very important part of solid poker; is to know Pot Odds and what they mean. Not only should you know pot odds, but you must now how to calculate pot odds. This is actually one of the simplest mathematical equations in poker. Pot odds are really just the ratio of the amount of money in the pot compared to the amount of money you need to put into the pot to continue to play in the hand. So for example, if there is $200.00 in the Pot, and you must put in $20.00 to call a bet, then the pot odds ration is 10:1.

You are not afforded many advantages over your opponents. You have two weapons at your disposal to extract profit, an understanding of math and strategy, and deception.
We actually understand deception within poker well before we even understand correct strategy and mathematics. We however only understand just enough about deception to hang ourselves.

It is very easy to make mistakes and wrong decisions in poker. It is also very easy for our opponents to do the same. When you make a mistake or a bad decision, you are supposed to lose. Well, unfortunately for the player who makes the correct decision that doesn’t always happen. There are times when you may be playing poker and your opponent may make a terrible decision and still win. It may even be that he is just not a good player and doesn’t know what he is doing, but he still may win.
